About Us
The National Forest Riding Club
The National Forest Riding Club has been established since 1981 and until 2003 was known as Donisthorpe and District Riding Club.
We have had a couple of major and related changes to the club since 2002. This year all shows and competitions will be held at our new showground on Ingleby Lane in Ticknall, close by Knowle Hill Equestrian Centre. The new name was chosen both in recognition of the wide area from which the club attracts members and because of the situation of the new showground in the heart of the National Forest.
We are a small and friendly local riding club and our position means that we attract members of all ages and standards, from Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Staffordshire.
We hold events throughout the year including weekend and evening show jumping and Saturday and evening dressage & combined training competitions at preliminary and novice levels. We also run long distance rides, Training Days for specific disciplines and social events.
