Class 1 - Individual Beginners (Max 2')
Class 2 - Pairs Beginners (Max 2')
Class 3 - Individual Novice (Max 2'6")
Class 4 - Pairs Novice (Max 2'6")
Class 5 - Individual Open (Max 2'9)
Each individual section split Pony & Horse.
Horses/ponies are not allowed to enter more than 2 classes regardless of rider. Horses/ponies can not be entered in the same class with different riders
Correct dress must be worn. Body protectors level three are compulsory, medical cards must be worn. Competitors can complete the course if eliminated but must give way to other competitors. Qualified First Aiders will be in attendance on the day.
Forest Cross = A cross country track with show jumping/working hunter type fences (that knock down) placed around it. Knock down = 5 time faults, nothing for a stop but 3 stops is elimination. If the rider falls off at a fence then they will be eliminated.
Additional rules for pair's class:
1. Each fence knocked down incurs a 5 time faults. However if the fence is knocked down where there is only one fence to jump (i.e. not two next to each other) a ten point penalty will be given. Should the knock down occur with the first horse, the second horse does not have to jump the fence.
2. For double fences (i.e. two next to each other) each horse must jump a different fence, one must jump the left hand fence and one the right hand fence. If not they will incur five point penalty.
